Thalapathy Vijay and his wife Sangeetha Sornalingam are in the news after news of divorce surfaced on the internet. Now, it seems that Sangeeta has filed a fresh petition demanding the superstar to give her rights over her marital home apart from the maintenance allowance.
Did Thalapathy Vijay’s wife Sangeeta apply for residential rights?
According to ongoing reports from Gulte and India Today, Thalapathy Vijay’s wife Sangeeta Sornalingam has filed a fresh petition against the actor demanding her marital residence rights.
According to reports, the 51-year-old has sought the right to stay in his marital home or to be provided with alternative accommodation. According to the petition, “Vijay made it clear that if he approached the court for legal separation, he would not be allowed to live in the marital home.”
In this regard, the celebrity wife has also demanded payment of fair and reasonable permanent alimony. Reportedly, Sangeeta has sought interim relief to ensure that she is not left without accommodation during the legal proceedings. However, these claims remain speculations as of now, as no official confirmation has been made.
Earlier, there were reports that Vijay and Sangeeta have decided to settle their divorce, with the actor apparently agreeing to pay Rs 250 crore as alimony.
Interestingly, the new petition against the actor surfaced after the actor and his alleged girlfriend Trisha Krishnan were seen together at a wedding reception. In a paparazzi video, the actors were seen wearing coordinated outfits and arriving and leaving the event together.
Relationship between Thalapathy Vijay and Sangeeta
Thalapathy Vijay and Sangeeta Sornalingam got married on 25 August 1999. During almost 27 years of marriage, the couple became parents to two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Sasha.
However, recently it was reported that the actor’s wife is seeking divorce, alleging that the actor has committed adultery by having an extramarital affair with an actress. Furthermore, reports also indicated that the actor had abandoned his wife and children, causing emotional and physical distress to them.
Additionally, his wife and children also reportedly had to endure public humiliation due to his alleged affair with the actress.
