Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna will enthrall the audience with their union in Thaama. The Dinesh Vijan-backed horror-comedy was announced in October last year. Abhishek Banerjee, famous for his role of Jana in Maddock Films’ cinematic universe, recently revealed whether he will also be a part of the film to be directed by Aditya Sarpotdar.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Abhishek Banerjee talked about being a part of his Thaama. Without giving away much details, he teased fans by saying, “I’m part of the horror universe, that’s all I can tell you. But where there is terror there will be birth. So let’s see.”
It is noteworthy that while talking to Bollywood Hungama a few days ago, Banerjee had reacted to the announcement of Maddock Films’ upcoming horror-comedy films. She said that the audience has seen her character Jana in Stree, Bhediya and Munjya. Continuing, he said, “Suppose Jana is a favorite of ghosts and danavos (demons) then anything can happen.”
Meanwhile, expressing his excitement about working on the film, Ayushmann, in a statement shared with Hindustan Times, had called it ‘the project of a lifetime’. He expressed his excitement about the collaboration and entry into the universe, especially after the success of Stree 2.
Munjya fame, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thaama directed by Ayushmann Khurrana and also starring Rashmika Mandanna stars Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. The film, set against a “bloody backdrop”, is set to release later this year on Diwali 2025.
Notably, after a short schedule in Mumbai late last year, it was revealed just a few days ago that Khurrana is gearing up to start the second schedule of Thaama in Delhi. The shooting is expected to continue till the first fortnight of January.
