AR Rahman is a legend, a maestro and an outstanding artist who inspires millions of people across the world. His presence is such that no one can move past him without appreciating his talent. While renowned lyricist Manoj Muntashir believes that Rahman is a one-of-a-kind person, he also said that he is the most ordinary person on earth until he sits at the piano.

During a conversation with O2India, Manoj Muntashir shared his experience of working with AR Rahman. Praising the great singer, Manoj says that he is very simple from his attire to his words and the way he sits. Muntashir said, “Until he sits down with his piano, he is the most ordinary man in the world.”

Manoj, who has written many Hindi songs like Teri Mitti, Galiyan, Tere Sang Yaara, Kaun Tujhe and many others, further explained that there is nothing extraordinary in them, and that is what makes them so special. Unlike many people, Rahman does not wear his fame on his shoulders like a medal. Actually, he is unaware that he is a megastar and singing sensation.

Recalling the time when they discussed music, the Still Tumko Chaunga lyricist said that he never said anything deep or profound until he brought music into the conversation. But as soon as they started discussing music, it felt as if someone had launched a nuclear reactor.

Manoj Muntashir was so mesmerized by Rahman’s aura that he could not bridge the distance between the two Rahmans he was meeting. One was a simple and ordinary man and the other was sitting at the piano.

“It was so divine that it is impossible for man; Someone has to be God. My first meeting with her was confusing,” Manoj recalled, adding that their first meeting was not what he had imagined even in his dreams.

AR Rahman recently made headlines after he announced his separation from his wife Saira Banu after 29 years of marriage. Things became difficult when his former bassist Mohini Dey announced her separation from her husband Mark Hartsch, leading people to speculate whether the two affairs were related.
