Tere Naam recorded a huge decline on Monday ahead of its re-release. Estimates suggest that the 23-year-old romantic action drama has collected around Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. Earning of Rs 15 lakh was done on the fourth day. Its opening weekend grossed Rs. 75 lakhs, the total earning in your name is now around Rs. 85 lakh to Rs. 90 lakhs earning at Indian box office.
Although the Salman Khan starrer has taken a decent start, it should have seen a big jump over the weekend and then a minimal decline on Monday, but that did not happen. Based on current trends, Tere Naam will be able to cross Rs. 1 crore mark on the fifth day.
Directed by the late Satish Kaushik, Tere Naam was re-released on limited screens on February 27 in a clash with The Kerala Story 2. Considering the huge demand from the audience around the re-release of the film, the box office performance is quite disappointing. Ideally, Salman Khan’s film should have crossed the Rs crore mark. 1 crore mark in the opening weekend itself.
One of the major reasons for Tere Naam not performing to its full potential is its release period. This tragic romantic action drama hit the theaters in the month of Ramzan, which is considered a dull period from the business point of view, as the Muslim community does not go to theaters during the month of Ramzan.
Co-starring Bhumika Chawla and Ravi Kishan, Tere Naam had done well till the release of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge and Toxic on Eid 2026, as there were no important releases coming in between. He said, this 23 year old film needs a strong performance so that it can stay in theaters for such a long time. Meanwhile, Salman Khan’s second film with Aamir Khan, Andaz Apna Apna, is returning to select theaters on March 6.
