Tollywood actor Nani, who is gearing up for his upcoming film ‘Saripodha Saanivaram’, expressed concern about abuse against women. Reacting to the recent Hema Committee report which revealed about the abuse against women. Sexual harassment and exploitation in the Malayalam film industryNani said that he believes the current situation is worse and it keeps bothering him.

In a recent interview, when Nani was asked how he sees the change or how he thinks things will change, he shared his fears about social media.

“It has been bothering me ever since the Nirbhaya case. It never ends and keeps haunting me. In fact, I am scared to scroll through my phone. We are in the midst of a social media boom, everyone is on social media and so many things are happening on it. I believe that whatever reaches its peak eventually starts to die down,” Nani said. Nani further added, “Whenever I hear all these news, especially about how women are treated or anybody can say or do anything and think they can get away with it, I believe 20 years ago the situation was much better. And it was better than 20 years before that. I think we are in the worst situation now.”

Expressing faith in the future, the ‘MCA’ actor said, “Because of my profession or, in general, because I love kids, I interact with them a lot. I have interacted with many five- and six-year-olds. I know the future is bright, and I am hopeful about it. I believe the situation will be better than it is today. They will be much better than us. I am very hopeful that things will get better from here.”
