Supreme Court allowed voter list to continue the amendment in Bihar

The Supreme Court has issued an order regarding the Election Commission’s Election Commission’s election roll amendment exercise. The court noted the presentation of the Election Commission that the amendment process would continue till the last date for filing nomination. The Election Commission clarified that claims and objections for draft rolls are on 30 September, and the final rolls will be published on 1 October, yet applications will be processed. The EC said, “Amendment will continue till the last date for filing nominations.” This development addresses concerns from petitioners including political parties and NGOs about short time limits. To address a noted “Trust Defisit”, the court has also directed the paramedic volunteers of the District Legal Services Officers to help people to file their claims and objections online.
