Taylor Swift and Kanye West could compete on Billboard charts ahead of awards season and expected rap TV announcement

Even years after their public feud in 2009, Taylor Swift and Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) are names that can’t go together, especially for their fans. While both the singer and the rapper have kept their distance over the decades, their fans are now speculating about a dramatic confrontation before the awards season kicks off.

Could Swift’s much-anticipated movie Reputation (Taylor’s Version) and Yi’s much-anticipated movie Vulture 2 actually be released at the same time? Let’s find out what fans are speculating and why.

Taylor Swift and these could almost compete on the Billboard charts

Recently on his Yeezy website, Ye revealed that the Vulture 2 would be released on August 2. However, he quickly removed the confirmation of the release date. After this, influencer Saint Leon said that the Vulture sequel would likely be released in August.

But it can’t be hyped up enough already because Ye’s Vulture updates have disappointed followers so many times that they’re unsure whether they should still expect a release. It’s also possible that Ye is using this third announcement to rekindle interest in the album given his past performance.

On the other hand, there have been many hints like the recent trademark extension update, which has fans anticipating the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version) soon. It is almost unheard of for Swift to release an album and not top the charts. With the recent release of her 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, she broke several records. She also made sure to stay on top of the charts by adding versions, which led people to accuse her of banning other artists, especially Billie Eilish.

However, fans know that any clash would only lead to chaos. In particular, Swifties feel that if the 34-year-old singer and songwriter releases the album at the same time as Ye, it will easily surpass Ye’s Vulture 2 on the Billboard charts. However, neither celebrity has announced their official album release dates yet.

Taylor Swift vs Kanye West feud

The feud began in 2009 when Yee publicly interrupted Swift during her acceptance speech at the VMAs. However, when Swift presented Ye with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2015 MTV VMAs and gave an emotional speech, it seemed like things were okay between the two, but things didn’t go well after that.

In 2016, Ye released his album Famous, in which he rapped “Me and Taylor might still have sex” and said that he “made that bitch famous.” Swift did not take it well and denied her knowledge of “that bitch.” In a 2019 interview, Swift mentioned that he and his then-wife, Kim Kardashian, who also came out in his support, have yet to apologize for it.
