Tamil filmmaker Vikram Sugumaran died of cardiac arrest on Monday morning. The director was known for his first film ‘Mada Yanai Katam’, when he experienced severe chest pain, he was back from Madurai after hearing a script to a manufacturer. He was 47 years old.

The director was taken to the nearest hospital. However, the doctors could not revive it. The Tamil film industry mourned the death of a talented filmmaker. Actor Shanthanu Bhagyaraj wrote on X: “RIP is the most dear brother. I have learned a lot from you and always cherish every moment. You have gone very soon. You will miss. #Ripvikramsugumaran (SIC).”

Sugumaran’s next title was ‘Theram Porum’. He started his career in 1999–2000 as Assistant Director of Legendary Tamil Director Balu Mahendra. He later directed a film called a famous rural drama ‘Mada i.e. Kotam’. His last direction was ‘Ravana Kottam’, in which Shanthanu Bhagyaraj was mainly included.

He is alive by his wife and children.
