Arshad Warsi has finally responded to the backlash he received over his controversial “Joker” comment on Prabhas. For those unaware, he said that Kalki was like a clown in the 2898 AD actor film. However, during a recent event he openly expressed his views and called Prabhas a ‘brilliant’ star.
Arshad Warsi said, “Everyone has their own point of view and people like to interpret the noise. I talked about the character, not about the person. He (Prabhas) is a brilliant actor and he has proved himself time and again. “It has been proven time and again, and we are aware of it and, when we give a bad character to a good actor, it is heart-breaking for the audience.”
The whole controversy started when during an interview with Samdish Bhatia, Arshad said that he did not like Kalki 2898 AD. He further said that he was disappointed with Prabhas’s character in the film.
Arshad Warsi said, “Prabhas, I’m really sad, why was he… he was like a clown. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson in there. What did you make of him?” “Dia man. Why do it?” Yes, I don’t understand that.
Following his comment, Arshad received backlash from netizens and many from the film fraternity. Director Nag Ashwin also responded to his controversial comment and took to his X handle to pen a note.
He wrote, “Let’s not go backwards..No more North-South or Bolly vs Tolly..Eyes on the bigger picture..United Indian Film Industry..Arshad Sahab should have chosen his words better..But It’s ok..sending budgie toys 4 their kids..I work hard that’s why FDFS tweets Prabhas was the best ever in K2.

Kalki 2898 AD was a blockbuster hit in theaters and it starred Prabhas in the lead role along with Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone. If you still haven’t seen the movie, go ahead and stream it on Netflix.
