Actress Disha Vakani, best known for playing Daya Ben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was reportedly offered a whopping fee of Rs 65 crore for Bigg Boss 18. Although reports suggest that he rejected the offer, India Today Digital sources have confirmed that no such offer was made.

Sources close to the development told us that this figure is a random quote and a significantly inflated number. Dismissing the reports, he said, “The entire budget of the contestants in one season will not even be Rs 65 crore. How can they pay that much money to one person? This is unrealistic and posted only to attract attention.”

The source further clarified that the contestants do not get A fixed amount for the entire season. Although they receive a signing fee, their total payment depends on how many weeks they stay on the show.

“So hypothetically, even if Disha should get a few crores of rupees for a week, what if she is out in two weeks? Then how do you justify that number?” The source told.

The source said that even if an actress like Disha Vakani lasts for the full 15 weeks and reaches the finals, a payment of more than Rs 4 crore per week would not be fair.

“Disha Vakani has been a popular face as Daya Ben, and considering her absence on screen, she continues to generate interest and curiosity among fans. However, it was his character that was popular and entertaining, and thus it would be unwise for the makers to take such a big risk. This is a format that requires one to be a truly mysterious person. It would be a failed business decision to promise such a sum to someone when you are not sure about the returns on investment,” the source said.
