Popular food delivery platform Swiggy has introduced a new feature called Incognito Mode. As the name suggests, this new feature is designed to provide users with more privacy when placing food or quick commerce orders. This new first feature allows users to exclude certain orders from their order history, which is perfect for those moments when discretion is needed. Whether it’s a surprise gift or a personal treat, users can now enjoy complete privacy without having to manually delete their order details later.

Who Will Benefit From Incognito Mode?

Incognito mode is useful for many situations, especially for those who share accounts with family members or friends. For example, if someone is planning a surprise birthday cake delivery or buying a special gift for an anniversary, they can use this feature to ensure that their order does not appear in the history for others to see. It is also useful for discretionary purchases, such as ordering personal health products from Swiggy Instamart. This way, users can keep such orders private without worrying about their order history being seen by others.

Currently, this feature is available to 10 percent of Swiggy users, and there are plans to roll it out more widely in the coming days. Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace, said that Incognito Mode meets the growing need for privacy in today’s social world, allowing users to shop without fear of their choices being exposed.

How does this work?

Activating incognito mode on Swiggy is straightforward. Users can enable it through a simple toggle option available in their cart before placing an order. Once the feature is activated, a reminder will pop up, confirming that incognito mode is on. This remains visible for three hours after the order is delivered, to avoid any post-delivery anxiety. After this period, the order is automatically hidden from the user’s order history, ensuring complete privacy.

This new feature comes after Swiggy’s recent updates aimed at improving the user experience, such as group ordering, Eatlists, Explore Mode, Reordering, and Similar Cart. With Incognito Mode, Swiggy is ensuring that users have more control over their shopping while maintaining their privacy.
