Swiggy says that the genie is getting slightly cold, parcel delivery service is no longer available

Did Swiggi Jini suddenly disappear from your app this morning? You are not alone. For many users from Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bangalore and Pune, Swiggy Jinn Service has disappeared. There are several reports that claim that the service has been discontinued or closed, however, on some positions on X, Swiggi suggested that the company is temporarily suspended only. The company said in a post that our team is working on bringing back the service as soon as possible. The timeline for the refund of service is not yet clear.
“Jinn is currently taking a little break from giving desires, Suha! But not worried, we listen to your wishes loudly and clear. While there is no concrete timeline yet for the return of the genie, our team is working hard behind the curtain to bring it back as soon as possible. We will ensure you to post that moment.” The company responded to a user’s query on X (East Twitter).

In another post, the company told a user that the genie lamp was getting a little cold only. “The lamp of the genie is just a little cold. While we are unable to provide any concrete information on it, please sit tight, we will keep posting you,” @swiggycares responded to a user on X.
Swigy Jinn Service has so far rolled out in 70 cities of India. The genie is a hyperlokal service offered by the company, similar to Uber Currier, Borzo/Dunjo and Porter. The service was launched in April 2020. The temporary unavailability of Swiggi genie comes when the company is expanding its 10 -minute delivery service called Bolt called more cities in India. The company says that Swigi Bolt is already available in 500 cities of India.
Swiggy Bolt was launched in October 2024, and the company is focusing on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities with service. The company recently revealed that “Bolt already has powers of over 1 in every 10 food distribution orders distributed by Swiggy”.
To be clear, Swiggi Jini was a parcel delivery service. Swiggy Bolt is a 10 -minute food distribution service. And the current swigy instamart is for service of daily items and grocery.
