Following several cancellation and resurrection, CBS officially canceled SWAT for the third time, which ends the long -running police procedural.

Originally was canceled in 2023 after six sessions, Swat was revived due to fan outrage, only to cancel again. CBS later brought it back to the seventh season, but the network indicated that it would be the last. In an amazing turn, the show was once again renewed for an eighth season – eventually canceled for good.

Shornar and executive producer Andrew Dateman described the decision as a “heart -wrenching news” and praised the artists and crew dedicated to his commitment to the series. Co-producer Sean Ryan resonated his feelings, with gratitude for the opportunity to tell Honbo and 20-Squad stories in eight sessions.

Based on the 1975 series of the same name, SWAT has been a prominent place of CBS lineup since 2017. Starring Shemer Moore as Daniel “Hondo” Harelson, the show dealt with social issues such as racism and police-commercial relations, giving high-octane action.

The cancellation comes in the midst of a wave of programming changes in CBS, including FBI: Most Wantand FBI: International’s ax was also seen. Despite its passionate fanbase, the SWAT was particularly absent from the renewal announcements of the network.

Although it marks the fixed end of the series, it has an impact on fans and television landscapes. Moore and artists have expressed their praise for the years, which they have completed, proudly closed this chapter of SWAT.
