Actress Swara Bhaskar slammed a food blogger who shared a collage of her pictures body-shaming her for her postpartum weight gain. Sharing Swara’s before and after pictures on X, Nalini Unagar questioned, “What did she eat?” to which Swara and her fans gave several replies.
On Friday, June 21, Swara responded to criticism of Nalini, saying, “She has given birth to a child. Do better, Nalini.”

Swara welcomed her daughter in September last year.
For those who don’t know, Swara had earlier criticised Nalini for her post about being a ‘proud vegetarian’. Nalini had written in the caption, “I am proud to be a vegetarian. My plate is free of tears, cruelty and guilt.”
Swara wrote, “Honestly I don’t understand this complacency of vegetarians. Your entire diet is based on not giving the calf its mother’s milk. Forcibly impregnating cows, then separating them from their calves and stealing their milk. You eat root vegetables? It kills the entire plant! Please refrain from performing virtues just because it’s Bakrid!”

Later, Nalini responded with a long note, accusing Swara of turning her normal post about vegetarianism into a communal issue.
Eventually, Swara took him to task, posting, “Let’s discuss this! You got upset because I questioned your claim of being a vegetarian – with a clear aim to target Muslims on Bakrid. OK. But instead of talking to me on vegetarianism, you chose to shame a breastfeeding mother for gaining weight?? You are a nutritionist? (sic).”
