Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen joined Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast on YouTube as a guest. In the conversation, Sushmita talked about being open and honest with her children as well as treating them like adults. The ‘Aarya’ actress also shared her approach to discussing sex and having open conversations with them.

Talking about raising her children, she recalled the time when her parents scolded her for using the word ‘sex’ and being too explicit during interviews. She said, “At that time, society was not as open as it is today. It was like ‘haw’. At that time, everything was ‘haw’ to such an extent that my maa and baba (mother and father) had to sit me down and say, ‘You have a lot of responsibility on your shoulders, can you control what you are saying? Why use the word ‘sex’ in an interview at the age of 18?'”

Sushmita spoke about being open-minded and bold. She said, “I did an interview with Shobhaa De and deliberately mentioned the word ‘sex’. I brought it up because I didn’t want to be just ‘Miss Universe’ or ‘the most beautiful person’. I wanted to be a free person, someone who is truly free. So, in this endeavour, I became India’s first Miss Universe.”

Talking about work, Sushmita was last seen in the thriller drama ‘Aarya’. The show was also nominated for ‘Best Drama’ series at the International Emmy Awards.
