Bollywood actor and Miss Universe 1994, Sushmita Sen, recently opened her time while overseeing the Miss India Universe Franchise between 2010 and 2012, a period when Miss Universe organization was owned by US President Donald Trump. Speaking during the promotion of his web series ‘Ion’, he shared insight into unexpected opportunities and complications that come with it.

“Miss Universe Organization approached me and asked,” Would you like to take a franchise? ” I was surprised, ‘Really felt like a dream!’ “I signed an intensive contract to take the franchise, which was then owned by Donald Trump, making things easy or pleasant.”

Sen clarified that she was not employed directly by Trump. “Fortunately, at that time I had only informed the people who were paramount communication and Madison square gardens. He was the owner of Miss Universe during the year I was working there. In the case of Trump, I was a franchise holder instead of a direct employee.”

Although she met Trump in relation to the franchise, Sen did not choose in detail on the conversation. “The thing is, it doesn’t matter,” he commented. Asked about any permanent impression that Trump may have left, he said, “Some people make a mark, not necessarily due to their power or achievements, but just because of who they are. He is not one of those people.”

US President Donald Trump owned the Miss Universe organization from 1996 to 2015. Before entering politics, he was widely known as a businessman and television personality. He became the 45th President of the United States in 2017 and returned to the post as the 47th President in January 2025 after losing the 2020 election.

Sen made history as the first Indian woman to win the Miss Universe Crown in 1994, an achievement that brought her national pride and began a successful career in modeling and acting.

After taking a break from acting, he made a strong comeback with acclaimed roles in the web series ‘Ion’ and the biographical drama ‘Tali’, where he portrayed transgender activist Srigauri Sawant.
