Suriya is currently working on his upcoming film, tentatively titled Suriya47, directed by Jeetu Madhavan. Now, it appears that Silambarasan TR may have a cameo in the film, with a possible sequel also being planned.
Is Silambarasan playing a cameo in TR Surya’s police action film?
According to a report in Valai Pechu, Silambarasan TR is being considered for a cameo appearance in Suriya47. The upcoming film is expected to be a sequel, with the second installment likely to feature two lead actors, with STR being considered as one of them. However, this is a report and has not been officially confirmed by the manufacturers.
For those unaware, Suriya had earlier announced his collaboration with Jeetu Madhavan tentatively titled Suriya47. The upcoming action-comedy is said to feature the actor as an eccentric police officer who leads a team of his own. Their lives are turned upside down when they are assigned a serious case.
The film stars Nazriya Nazim Fahadh in the female co-lead role, and she recently joined the shooting. Apart from Nazriya, Neslen also plays an important role in the film.
Surya and Simbu’s work front
Suriya will next be seen in the lead role in Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. The fantasy action film stars Trisha Krishnan in the co-lead role and is said to revolve around a lawyer who gets possessed by a deity and fights against injustice.
Apart from the lead roles, the film is expected to star Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Shivada and Anagha Maiya Ravi in lead roles. Although an official release date has not been announced yet, director RJ Balaji recently said that the film has entered the final stages of post-production, with the release date likely to be confirmed in the coming days. He also dismissed previous reports suggesting an April release.
Looking ahead, Suriya also has another project titled Vishwanath & Sons, directed by Venky Atluri, who previously directed Lucky Bashkhar. The film is expected to be a family drama entertainer, starring Mamita Baiju and Raveena Tandon in the co-lead roles. It is reportedly scheduled to release in July 2026 after Karuppu.
On the other hand, Simbu is currently working with director Vetrimaaran on the gangster action film Arasan. Later he will join hands with director Ashwath Marimuthu for a fantasy romantic action film.
