Actor Suria, along with ‘Retro’ director Karthik Subbej, donated Rs 10 crore from the film’s profit, a non-profit organization, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality education to the disadvantaged students in Tamil Nadu.

The Foundation, established by the actor in September 2006, plays an important role in supporting first generation learners from different backgrounds. A picture of Surya and Karthik has gone viral to donate funds to the foundation.

Speaking at the ‘Retro’ success meeting, Suria said, “The greatest happiness in sharing. I am grateful to give me back to the community who has given me recognition and purpose as an actor. Your support for Retro has filled me with happiness and power, especially during the difficult times.”

He added, “The Agrama Foundation was born to me with a desire to do the belief that you have given me meaningful. Thank you for this support, thousands of students are following their dreams. This year, I am proud to contribute Rs 10 crore to the foundation with retro.

The ‘retro’ produced by Stone Bench Films in collaboration with 2D entertainment is a romantic action drama that mixes the subjects of love, laughter and war. The film, which received mixed response from both critics and audience, crossed a mark of Rs 100 crore at the box office, giving another milestone in the actor’s career.

The ‘Retro’ has a contingent of artists including Pooja Hegde, Jujo George, Jairam, Prakash Raj and Vidya. Santosh Narayanan composed music, Shreyas Krishna took over Cinematography, and Shafiq Mohammad Ali served as Editor.
