After creating enthusiasm with Superman, DC Studio is now focusing on another Cryptonian Hero Supergirl.
On Wednesday, the Studio Head and Director of Superman James Gun shared the first official form in the Supergirl via a joint Instagram post with lead actress Milli Alcock.
The caption just read: “Look out. 2026,” a clever node for Superman’s prestigious catchfrays, indicates the arrival of a powerful new appearance in the DC Universe.

Alcock, who complimented HBO’s House of the Dragon to play the role of Young Reniera Torgairan, recorded a surprising appearance as a supergirl in Superman’s final moments.
His cameo teased the big things ahead, and Gunn has now confirmed that the supergirl DC’s rebooted movie will be the next major feature in the slate. Alcock was officially cast as Kara Jor-L, Superman’s cousin in January 2024.
Although Kara shares Superman’s cryptonian roots, his journey is clearly different. He is a mess. While the teaser poster does not confirm the final title, Warner Brothers and DC released on 26 June 2026. The acclaimed director Craig Gillespie, which is known for I, Tony and Cruella, will complete the project.
The supergirl is part of a large wave of DC studio content, including the second season of the Peacemaker and the upcoming series lantern, both are ready to premiere on HBOs.
With a darker tone and a new lead, the supergirl is designed to add an emotional, action-pack chapter to the DC expansion cinematic universe.
