Sunil Shetty doesn’t like South trends when it comes to casting Hindi heroes
Suniel Shetty has highlighted the trend of typecasting Hindi heroes in negative roles. The actor recently reflected on his recent film choices in an interview and said that he accepted a role in ‘Darbar’ because he wanted to work with Rajinikanth.

Actor Suniel Shetty has addressed the trend of casting Hindi heroes in negative roles in the South Indian film industry. In a recent interview, he expressed his objections regarding this pattern. The 64-year-old revealed that though he gets offers from South Indian films, they mainly involve playing antagonist characters.
in an interview with The LallantopSunil said, “I get offers (from the South), but unfortunately, what happens is, you will see this trend that we get offers for negative roles. They want to cast Hindi heroes as powerful from an oppositional point of view, (they say) it is good for the screen and the audience. And that is something I don’t like.”
He also told about his presence in the court With Rajinikanth. The actor clarified that accepting this negative role was driven by personal aspiration. He said, “I did the film with Rajini sir only because I wanted to work with him.”
Apart from his work in mainstream cinema, Sunil recently accepted a cameo in the Tulu film Victory Supporting the regional film industry. He said, “Recently, I did a small Tulu film to promote the film, which is doing really well; it’s called Jai.” The film has reportedly achieved remarkable success at the box office in the initial days of its release.
He said, “Today, there is no language barrier. If there is any barrier, it is probably because of the content. If your content is good, it will cross all barriers.”
