Suniel Shetty urged the cricketers to fairness towards the cricketers amid a boycott for the Indo-Pakistan Asia Cup Clash in Dubai.

The upcoming India-Pakistan cricket match to be held on Sunday at 8 pm in Dubai has made heated debate. Families of terrorist victims and several political leaders have demanded a boycott in view of the Pahalgam terror attack. Many people have also criticized BCCI for not taking India out of the tournament.

Between the row, actor Sunil Shetty has voiced his stance, saying that cricketers should not be defective to take the field as they are “expecting to represent the country.”

Speaking at a press conference in Delhi, Shetty said, “This is a world game. They have to follow the rules and regulations because there are many other sports and there are many athletes that are involved in them. As Indians, as Indians, I think it is our personal call – whether we want to see it, whether we don’t want or not.

He said it would be unfair to blame the players: “You cannot blame cricketers for playing because they are a player, they are expected to represent the country. It is not in the hands of the BCCI. It is a world game body, and you cannot blame anyone for this.”

The controversy stems from the initiative terrorist attack earlier this year, claiming the lives of 26 citizens. In response, the Indian Army launched Operation Sindoor, which carries a missile strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir. On May 10, before the two sides agreed to the ceasefire, Pakistan retaliated with cross -border shelling and drone attacks.

The Sunday match will mark the first meeting between India and Pakistan since the deadly growth, adding a layer of political and emotional importance to the competition.
