It seems that Patrick J. Adams put her brilliant observational skills to good use as she listed the similarities between the series she starred in, Suits, and HBO’s hit show, Succession.
Adams, who plays Michael Ross on Suits, discussed it on the Sidebar: A Suits Watch podcast with his co-host Sarah Rafferty, who played Donna Paulsen on the show. The actor said that his show was a “precursor” to another very famous series.
“I think the suit was filed so that the succession could continue,” he said. The actor started by pointing out the people who have been featured in both the series. He named Dagmara Dominick, Rob Yang, who played a doctor in the pilot of Suits, who also appeared in the pilot episode of Succession.
However, the list of names did not end here. He also named Kevin Bray, who produced and directed some of the early episodes of Adams’s show, as being “certainly responsible for the look and vibe of the whole thing.” He also directed some of the Succession episodes. Have directed.
Adams pointed out the similarities in theme between the two series, both based in New York. He added, “The power brokers, the movers and shakers at the highest levels of New York society.”
Rafferty agreed with the above similarities but also noted one key difference. He also pointed to Succession’s tremendous appeal among awards voters, saying he always sat in a different spot from them at the Golden Globes, which the suits didn’t always like.
Adams replied, “Yeah, well, they have to be bigger,” adding “PG version” to his series.
However, it is safe to say that Suits garnered major attention during its run on television. During the pandemic, many people watched the shows again, which would definitely have increased their viewership on the streaming platform Netflix.
Talking about Succession, it has created its own fanbase and the show ran smoothly and successfully. Discussions of both the series still continue on online platforms.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Suits L. A reboot titled A is in development and will star Stephen Amell. It is scheduled to air on NBC, with a premiere date yet to be announced.
