Sudheer Babu ‘disgusted’ by YouTuber’s casting in ‘Haram Hara’: Sincerely apologise
Telugu actor Sudheer Babu has apologised for casting YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanthu in ‘Haram Hara’. The apology comes after Hanumanthu faced criticism over his offensive comments during a YouTube reaction video.

Telugu actor Sudheer Babu has posted a note in which he has apologised for casting YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanthu in the film ‘Haram Hara’. This comes after Hanumanthu faced severe criticism for his distasteful comments while reacting to a father and daughter’s video. His comments included sexual references. In his post, Sudheer Babu apologised, saying that he and his team were not aware of what ‘pathetic creatures’ they are.
Sudheer Babu shared a post on X which read, “Good or bad, I am not a social media guy and I don’t keep track of things. I am so disgusted that we cast #PraneethHanumanthu in #HaromHara. Apologies from me and my entire team. We had no idea what a pathetic creature this man is. This was not in my knowledge.”
He said, “I cannot even dare to read what has been revealed about him on social media. Those things are not even worth vomiting for us but at this point of time we must pay attention to them. We must ensure that these sick minds do not get any platform to spread the filth they want to spread. This is not freedom of expression in any way.”
This post is as follows:
Good or bad, I’m not a social media guy and I don’t follow things. I’m disgusted by what we did #praneethahanumanthu inserted in #everyone. My apologies from me and my entire team. We had no idea what a pathetic creature this man is. This was not in my knowledge.” — Sudheer Babu (@isudheerbabu) July 8, 2024
Earlier today, actor Kartikeya also reacted to the comments. He wrote a long post condemning such comments. “Based on the recent outrage over a YouTuber who crossed all limits by cracking an insensitive joke, I would like to express my opinion on the situation. Not just this one case, but I feel cracking such derogatory jokes on others has become a trend these days by people who call themselves cool/new age and they are doing it because many of us are promoting such content and they are stooping to this level. From here on, let’s not promote such content,” the note read.
He further wrote, “While constructive criticism and healthy jokes are good, such derogatory comments will only take us backwards as a society. Instead of focusing on pulling each other down, let’s focus on growing as individuals and helping others grow. I strongly condemn not just this one particular joke but all insensitive and derogatory comments used by anyone.”

This is not the only case, but I think it has become a trend these days to make such derogatory jokes on others. – Kartikeya (@ActorKartikeya) July 8, 2024
In another post, he defended himself when it surfaced on the internet that the actor had given an interview to Hanumanthu earlier as well.
“Yes, I have given interview to them but it was a part of promotion of my film. Like I give interview to all other channels before the film release and to be honest I was a bit surprised by the questions then but then I didn’t want to create any drama there so tried my best to be as comfortable as possible. As I mentioned in my previous tweet I had this opinion before but now using this situation I am saying it. And yes, I shouldn’t have been a part of it, I had to give interview as one of the job responsibilities as a lead actor to try and promote my film to a wider audience but I had no intention of encouraging such content but sadly I had to be a part of it and I feel bad for it, from now on I will be really careful who I am giving interview to and let’s all together not encourage such content. Hope
Yes, I have given him an interview.
But this was a part of my film promotion.
Like I give interviews to everyone else

Actor Sai Dharam Tej had earlier targeted YouTuber X. Later, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reacted to Sai’s post and wrote, “Thank you @IamSaiDharamTej garu for bringing this issue to our notice. Child safety is our government’s top priority. Will look into this incident and take appropriate action.”
Taking cognizance of the matter, the Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau has registered an FIR. Telangana Director General of Police Ravi Gupta said that strict action will be taken.
