Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor are all set for the release of their film Stree 2, which will release on August 15, 2024. When the two actors were promoting their upcoming horror comedy film, Rao spoke about how Amar Kaushik’s 2018 film Stree proved to be a milestone in the careers of all the actors. During a press conference held in Delhi on Wednesday, the actor said that the film, about a small town terrorised by a female ghost, was released in 2018 and it became an instant hit at the box office and in the eyes of critics.
He said the film has always “given us a lot.” According to Rajkummar Rao, the first film marked a “big leap” in the film careers of all the actors, including Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee. He is grateful for the love the film received from the audience, but he has the same expectations from Stree 2.
Rao said that he had a lot of fun while shooting the film and he prays that cinema lovers also get a lot of entertainment from it and see how much hard work everyone has put into the film. He requested the audience to watch the film in theatres only.
The actor also recently appeared on the Aapka Apna Zakir show, where he talked about his first salary and how he spent the Rs 300 he got as a dance tutor. During the candid conversation, Rao revealed that when he was in high school, he would go to a girl’s house and teach her dance, for which he would get six Rs 50 notes. Since his family’s financial condition was not good, the actor bought groceries with his first earnings. Apart from this, he also bought ghee from the leftovers of the film because “it was a big deal for us to put ghee on roti.”
The Srikant actor also revealed working in a coffee house in the US. Meanwhile, Stree 2 will clash with Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer Khel Khel Mein in the theatres.
