Amar Kaushik’s ‘Stree 2’ did great business in its third week at the box office. In fact, it recorded the highest third week collection for a Hindi film till date, beating the third week collections of ‘Animal’, ‘Jawaan’ and the Hindi version of ‘Baahubali 2’. The horror-comedy created a new record by earning Rs 70.20 crore from its Hindi version alone.

Interestingly, the film crossed the Rs 500 crore mark in 22 days at the domestic box office. ‘Stree 2’ became the second fastest Hindi film to enter the Rs 500 crore club, earlier ‘Jawaan’ had achieved the feat in 18 days.
The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer is now set to become the biggest Hindi film of all time by beating the lifetime runs of ‘Gadar 2’, ‘Pathan’, ‘Animal’ and ‘Jawaan’. To top the list and overtake ‘Jawaan’, ‘Stree 2’ will first have to break the overall records of ‘Pathan’, which had collected Rs 543.09 crore net, and ‘Animal’, which had earned Rs 553.87 crore by the end of its run at the domestic box office. The film is not facing any competition at the Hindi box office in the near future, which means it has a clear window to achieve its ultimate target soon.
