‘Stree 2’ box office 6th day: No decrease in the film’s earnings, touching the figure of Rs 500 crores is now an easy task
‘Stree 2’ has crossed the Rs 250 crore mark at the domestic box office and is now eyeing the Rs 500 crore mark. The horror-comedy is expected to be a big success in the second weekend as well.
‘Stree 2’ is now completing a week at the box office and there is no sign of its momentum slowing down anytime soon. The horror-comedy has already crossed the Rs 250 crore mark in India and at this pace, it is just a few days away from hitting the Rs 500 crore mark.
The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, raked in around Rs 25 crore on Tuesday, taking its seven-day total (including Wednesday’s paid previews) to Rs 254.55 crore, as per trade websites. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, Stree 2 has created a festive mood in the theatres. The film is expected to cross the Rs 500 crore mark at the box office by its second weekend, after which everything will be a bonus.
It has already become the biggest Bollywood entertainer of the year and is only behind ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ in terms of becoming the biggest box office film of the year. The Prabhas starrer grossed Rs 293 crore from its Hindi version and it looks like ‘Stree 2’ will cross this figure in the next two days.
The film is a part of Maddock’s supernatural universe and its performance further strengthens the makers’ belief in what they wanted to achieve with ‘Stree’ in 2018. ‘Munjya’ and ‘Bhediya’ are the other two titles in the universe.
