In a conversation with Fever FM, the Veda actor candidly discussed one of his improvisations and gave details about Rao. He revealed that Rao had improvised in the low low low segment of the song Calm Down, for which the producers had to buy the rights for Rs 25 lakh. “It was the most expensive improvisation in history,” Banerjee said.
In another conversation with News18’s Shosha, Banerjee revealed that soon after the grand success of Stree 2, she started receiving offers for lead roles.
Abhishek said that he was not getting many offers earlier as the ones he was getting were limited and low budget. However, last week he received three offers and plans to start reviewing them to decide his next step, adding that this change is significant. Abhishek, 39, admitted that professional success is important to him and he really values it.
Reflecting on the success of Stree 2, Abhishek said that the challenge with Stree is that it has become a huge success. As a sequel, it has already established a connection with the audience, making it difficult to gauge its impact. While he expected the film to be significant, he did not expect it to reach the level of a major phenomenon like Godzilla.
Banerjee said that he does not want to be seen as an intellectual and has always received compliments from friends who have called him “commercial” since his theatre days. He expressed his happiness in working in commercial films and entertaining the audience, saying he enjoys such work as much as projects like Stolen. He stressed that he cannot do boring work as an actor.
In another interview with The Indian Express, Banerjee, who plays Jana in the Maddock supernatural universe, discussed Stree 3. He mentioned that the third installment will take some time to develop, but it won’t take as long as the gap between Stree and Stree 2. Given the success of the latest release, Banerjee said that Stree 3 won’t take six years to complete.
Banerjee also revealed that parts of the script have already been written and the film is expected to be a grand epic. He also expressed his excitement to return to the sets.
Aparshakti Khurana, who plays Bittu in the franchise, revealed that the outline of Stree 3 was prepared some time ago. He indicated that they are now waiting to hear more about the project from director Amar Kaushik and producer Dinesh Vijan.
At the trailer launch event of Stree 2, Vijan first confirmed the third installment, describing Stree 2 as a “mothership”. He mentioned that the film will address various questions from the first film and clarify several connections. Vijan added that Stree 3 has already been written, so the production gap will be less.
Talking about Banerjee’s work front, he will next be seen in Surya 44.
