Silambarasan TR is currently working on Arasan directed by Vetrimaaran. As the actor is next set to collaborate with Dragon fame Ashwath Marimuthu, the director has revealed that the upcoming film will revolve around the concept of heaven.

Speaking at the Zapier Icon Awards, Ashwath Marimuthu said, “Dragon advocated the importance of education, while STR51 will focus on heaven. However, I won’t impose any message on the film; it will flow naturally. It’s a brilliant script. There are many interesting elements in it that I can’t reveal right now.”
The director said, “Actor Santhanam will also be a part of the film, and the music director will be someone you love a lot. Besides, there will be multiple heroines in the film.”
Earlier there were reports that Mrunal Thakur may debut in Tamil with STR starrer film. However, this is still unconfirmed.
Although more details about the film have not been revealed yet, it is being said that STR51 is a fantasy romantic action film. The film will reportedly feature Simbu in the role of a “god of love”, with the filmmaker promising a film reminiscent of the actor’s past ventures.
In an earlier interview, director Ashwath Marimuthu had revealed that STR51 is currently in the scripting stage. As the film is expected to release in 2027, the shooting is likely to begin with the final schedule of Arasan.
Silambarasan TR’s workfront
Silambarasan TR was last seen in the lead role in Thug Life opposite Kamal Haasan. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the gangster action film revolves around the hostility that develops between an aging don and his foster son due to a misunderstanding.
Apart from Haasan and STR, the film also stars Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Mahesh Manjrekar and many others in pivotal roles. The film received an overwhelming response from both critics and audiences and is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
Looking ahead, STR is currently filming Arasan directed by Vetrimaaran. The gangster actioner Vada is based on the Chennai cinematic universe and serves as a spin-off of the Dhanush-starrer. Along with Vijay Sethupathi in the co-lead role, the film also stars Tourist Family fame Yogalakshmi and Chaitra J Achar in lead roles.
