Supriya Menon was a first-rate journalist with a popular channel. Her life changed 360 degrees when she was assigned to cover Malayalam cinema by her editor. Though Menon is a Malayali, she was not much familiar with Mollywood except for a few actors like Mohanlal and Mammootty.
Then he sought help from one of his colleagues, who gave him the number of a young and new actor of Malayalam cinema. And guess what, that actor was Prithviraj.
According to bollywoodshadis.com, Supriya once said, “A person gave me the number of a young actor and asked me to contact him and say that he might be able to help me. That one phone call changed the course of my life. See, my friend introduced me to my future husband, Prithviraj Sukumaran.”
Over time, Prithviraj became more than just a helpful contact for Supriya, they became good friends. Moreover, she became his tour guide, helping him explore the city of Mumbai. In a conversation with TOI, Prithviraj revealed how Supriya changed his perspective on Mumbai, which laid the foundation for a relationship between the two.
Eventually, friendship and togetherness made them realise how much they loved each other. Frequent trips to Mumbai laid the foundation of this relationship. And that is why the city is special to the couple. Sukumaran once said, “I would love to live in Mumbai which gave me the love of my life.”

After dating each other for four years, Supriya and Prithviraj got married on April 25, 2011. They celebrated their marriage by hosting a reception party the next day.
Supriya was a successful journalist in Mumbai, so marrying Prithviraj meant she would settle down in Kerala, a move that was easier said than done as her bright career was at stake. Despite this, she decided to marry Prithvi without any second thoughts as she valued his companionship more than anything else.

After three years of happy married life, the power couple decided to become parents and welcomed their daughter Alankrita Menon Prithviraj in 2014.
The little princess is undoubtedly the apple of their eye, and the doting parents never shy away from showering her with lots of love. The Salaar actor has faced criticism in the past for his choice of name for his daughter, which also includes his wife Supriya’s surname.
On this, Sukumaran said, “I want my daughter to have her mother’s name…even before my name. So I reiterate once again that Menon is just a name for me and it has no significance in relation to caste, religion or beliefs.”
