Abbott India Ltd (up 4.1 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (3.62 per cent), Alchem Laboratories Ltd (3.56 per cent), Biocon Ltd (2.4 per cent) and Netco Pharma Ltd (2.01 per cent) ended the day as the top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Gland Pharma Ltd (down 1.51 percent) and Mankind Pharma Ltd (down 0.18 percent) ended as the day’s top losers.
The Nifty Pharma index rose 1.13 percent to close at 20844.55.
The benchmark NSE Nifty50 index rose 84.55 points to 24586.7 while the BSE Sensex gained 145.52 points to 80664.86.
Of the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 closed in the green and 16 in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Yes Bank, IFCI, IRFC and NHPC were among the most traded stocks on the NSE.
Shares of Mukka Proteins, Kelton Tech, Godfrey Phillips, Geojit Financial and ISMT Ltd touched fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Akme Fintrade(India, Brightcom Group, SecUR Credentials, Landmark Cars and JP Associates) touched fresh 52-week lows.
