Shares of Eicher Motors Ltd (5.55 per cent), Samvardhan Motherson International Ltd (2.89 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd (2.77 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd (2.53 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra rose. Ltd. (up 2.47 percent) ended the day as the top gainer in the pack.
On the other hand, Apollo Tires Ltd (down 3.85 per cent), MRF Ltd (down 2.48 per cent) and Balakrishna Industries Ltd (down 2.22 per cent) ended as the day’s top losers.
The Nifty Auto Index rose 1.72 percent to close at 25346.65.
The benchmark NSE Nifty50 index rose 250.5 points to close at 24367.5, while the BSE Sensex rose 819.69 points to 79705.91.
Out of 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 closed in the green and 6 in the red.
Shares of Ola Electric Mobilit, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Yes Bank and NBCC were among the most traded stocks on the NSE.
Shares of SMS Lifesciences Ind, KFIN Technologies, Avanti Feeds, Authum Investment and Airan Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Shankara Bldg Prod, 8K Miles Soft, Avalon Technologies, Ravindra Energy and AGI Infra. A fresh 52-week low.
