Agro Phos India Ltd (down 1.36%) and Krishna Foschem Ltd (down 0.58%) were among the day’s top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index rose 71.36 points to close at 24770.2, while BSE’s 30-share flagship Sensex gained 102.44 points to close at 80905.3.
Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.77%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 2.47%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(2.24%), Cipla Ltd.(2.04%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.97%) % ), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (up 1.89%), Grasim Industries Ltd. (1.83%), Asian Paints Ltd. (1.56%), Adani Enterprises Ltd. (1.47%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (up 1.46%) %) Nifty was among the top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd. (down 1.48%), Ultratech Cement Ltd. (down 1.32%), Tata Steel Ltd. (down 1.31%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down 1.14%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (down 0.73%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (down 0.73%), State Bank of India (down 0.58%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (down 0.57%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (down 0.4%) and Tata Motors Ltd. (down 0.16%) closed in the red.
