Is Mahesh Babu’s SSMB29 starting its shooting in South Africa since September 2025?
According to a Telugu Chitralu report, Mahesh Babu starrer SSMB29 is expected to start filming in South Africa from the second week of September 2025. Recently, the makers allegedly shot scenes with Priyanka Chopra Jonas in Hyderabad. Filming is said to be inside an indoor studio.

Mahesh Babu starrer SSMB29 has been postponed as a globe-trotting jungle adventure, playing the role of a rugged explorer similar to superstar Indiana Jones and African folklore. However, an official confirmation about the plot has not been made yet.
The much awaited Magnum Opus by RRR Helmer is said to be made on a budget of Rs 900-1000 crore. Initially, it was estimated that the film would be released as a two-part series after completing the shooting by 2026, but the manufacturers rethink their decision and possibly released it as a single venture in 2027 with a temporary release date.
As part of Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday celebrations, the manufacturers of SSMB29 highlighted that the official disclosure would be made in November 2025. The team has promised that it would be a ‘never seen’, which teases a new look.
Sharing the update, the manufacturers indicated that the film’s title is “globatrotter”, with the report also speculation to the title as “Jean 63”.
Allegedly, the film will introduce the story of a hero who descends from a revered genealogy line as the successor of the 63rd generation.
In addition, the film is asked to take inspiration from Ramayana, a combination of mythology and science-fi elements. However, these are only speculation till now and will be confirmed only after the official updates to the manufacturers.
Mahesh Babu played the lead role, the film will feature Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Prithviraj Sukumaran and R Madhavan in the lead roles. In addition, it has been reported that the film will have a large -scale single dance number in the superstar.
