Mahesh Babu’s Varanasi is currently in production, with the makers eyeing a release date of April 7, 2027. Although most of the details about the film are still under wraps, it appears that the plot may have been revealed by the VFX team, and the information has since gone viral online.
Varanasi conspiracy exposed?
According to CineSite’s website, a VFX firm is working on SS RajamouliIn the film, a brief summary of the film was shared. The site states, “A Shiva devotee sets out on a dangerous quest to uncover a lost cosmic artifact of immense power. As he pieces together ancient secrets hidden for centuries, he realizes the truth behind his mission: the same power that set him on this path is a calculating mastermind with a vision of complete global domination.”
While early glimpses of the film hinted at some of these elements, it now appears that the conflict between the hero and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s character, Kumbha, may develop into a bigger battle against a villain seeking global domination.
Recently, Prithviraj shared an update after completing an intense shooting schedule. She posted an Instagram Story of a high-calorie cheat meal after the shoot.

Varanasi is an upcoming epic adventure drama starring Mahesh Babu in the lead role. The film, directed by SS Rajamouli, features the superstar as a globe-trotting, time-traveling adventurer named Rudra.
Apart from his lead role, Mahesh Babu has also confirmed that he will be seen as Lord Ram in an episode of the film. It is believed that this film will be made on a large scale, further details regarding casting have not been announced yet.
Earlier, the makers unveiled the first-look poster of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who plays the role of a woman named Mandakini. With filming still underway, Varanasi is scheduled to release on April 7, 2027. Earlier in an interview, Rajamouli had mentioned that the shooting is expected to be completed by June 2026.
