Spotify Wrapped 2024: Taylor Swift is the platform’s most-streamed artist again!
Spotify Wrapped 2024 features Taylor Swift as the most streamed artist globally for the second year in a row. The platform’s annual report highlights the top artists, songs and albums, with Swift leading both the global and US charts.
‘Tis the season to unpack Spotify Wrapped. And it should come as no surprise that for the second year in a row, Taylor Swift has been named the most played artist.
On Wednesday, the streaming giant unveiled its annual overview of individual listening trends as well as trends around the world. Users can now access their top artists, songs, genres, albums and podcasts, as well as find out which artists had the biggest year on the platform.
Swift was the most streamed artist of 2024 globally, ranking second with over 26.6 billion streams. He is followed by The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake and Billie Eilish in that order.
In the US, the list looks similar: Swift is in the top spot, followed by Drake, Zach Bryan, Morgan Wallen and Kanye West.
Last year, Swift overtook Puerto Rican reggaeton star Bad Bunny for the top spot globally. He held this prestigious title for three consecutive years starting in 2020.
Swift also earned the title of most streamed album of 2024 with The Tortured Poets Department. It was followed by Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet, Karol G’s Manana Sera Bonito and Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine.
All of these titles are new for 2024, except for Karol G’s album, which was released early last year.
In the US, there are only minor differences: Swift’s album is still the leader, followed by Wallen’s One Thing at a Time – released last year. Then it’s The Carpenter, Noah Kahn’s Stick Season, and Chappelle Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, released in 2023.
Carpenter leads the way with his summer smash Espresso, the most streamed song in the US and globally this year. It earned over 1.6 billion streams.
