Spotify launches urn-shaped Bluetooth speaker that will play your songs even after you die
Spotify has partnered with beverage brand Liquid Death to introduce a limited-edition Bluetooth urn. Yes that is right. The urn is essentially a speaker meant to play your favorite playlist even after your death.

As if there isn’t enough consumerism in our lives already, Spotify is now bringing its playlists to the afterlife. The company has launched the world’s first music-streaming urn in collaboration with beverage brand Liquid Death. Called the Eternal Playlist Urn, it’s a Bluetooth-enabled cremation urn designed to keep your favorite songs playing “for eternity.” Although some may roll their eyes at the idea of commercializing something as tragic as death, according to the company, it wants users to “enjoy music and personal identity” even after they die.

Spotify’s new Eternal Playlist Earn is a limited edition product and is currently available in the United States. Spotify describes it as “the world’s first wireless speaker designed to take your music to places it’s never been before.” The speaker resembles a traditional white cremation urn, but there’s a carefully hidden speaker inside the lid.
Eternal Playlist Kalash Specifications and Features
It may sound strange, but Eternal Playlist Earn is quite cheap. It has been launched with a price tag of $495 (approximately Rs 45,000). Although it is expensive, it is not in the league of normal premium speakers from brands like JBL or Sony. There is no Wi-Fi connectivity or voice assistant built-in. Instead, the Kalash connects to any Bluetooth-compatible device, allowing users to stream playlists directly.
As the announcement says, owners can “connect to any compatible device and enjoy their favorite playlists indefinitely.” The product is being sold in limited quantities and is offered as a collector’s item.
The urn has a 2.4-pound white polyester resin body, with a removable lid that houses a speaker, a USB-C charging port, and a small blue indicator light. Although it looks like a standard cremation urn, Spotify presents it largely as a novelty rather than a traditional ash-holding urn. Only 150 units have been released.
Eternal Playlist Generator
Along with the hardware launch, Spotify also introduced the Eternal Playlist Generator, a digital tool available to Spotify users in the US. This tool helps users create a soundtrack for their afterlife, whatever that means.
Users answer a set of playful prompts such as “What is your eternal feeling?” and “What’s your ghost noise?” Based on those answers and the user’s listening history, Spotify creates a personalized playlist that, according to the company, will be suitable for a lifetime and beyond.
Spotify notes that these playlists can be shared with friends and, for those who have the Kalash, can be synced directly to the built-in speaker for what it calls “maximum ethereal vibes.”
