The problem is affecting users on both mobile and desktop apps. At the time of writing this story, we also faced issues searching for online songs, however, advertisements on the app were still playing. He said, downloaded music or an offline playlist is basically playing. According to the detector, the issue started today around 6.30 pm on 16 April. Spotify has accepted the issue and says they are working on a fix. “Hi all! We are aware of the issues affecting the Spotify app and website loading. The right team is on it and working on a fix,” the company handles @Spotifycares posted on X.
There are also online reports that it was due to the outage security hack. The company has denied the claims and says the reports are “false”. “We know about the outage and are working to solve it as soon as possible. The report of this safety hack is false,” Spotify mentions in a post on X.
The company’s community support page also did not decide the issue at the time of writing this story. The final update was an acknowledgment of outage, which says, “We are seeing reports from users that the app is not being loaded properly or that they are experiencing playback issues. Other people report that they are issues of accessing the support site. It is on both mobile and desktop equipment.”
