Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming adventure animated film Spellbound. The film is making headlines for its unique story, and audiences will also get to see the team of Rachel Zegler, Nicole Kidman, and Javier Bardem to voice the characters of Princess Elyon and her parents respectively.
As per the trailer, Princess Alien from the fantasy world faces challenges when her parents turn into monsters due to some black magic. As the preview progresses, the alien searches for ways to return her guardians back to normal.
The film’s official synopsis reads, “When (the alien’s parents) escape the castle, panic spreads across the kingdom, and the alien must find a way to break the spell before it’s too late.” Must go on a daring quest.” It adds, “But she soon discovers that even if she succeeds, her family may be changed forever.”
The film is directed by Vicky Jensen, best known for the popular 2001 film Shrek. Speaking about the upcoming animation, the filmmaker revealed that “Mythology and fairy tales have always been a part of my life and upbringing.”
Describing Ziegler, who will play Snow White in the fantasy film next year, the director claimed she was extremely impressed as the actress gave her best performance.

In addition to Ziegler, Kidman, and Bardem, the film will also star John Lithgow, Jennifer Lewis, Nathan Lane, and Tituss Burgess, who voices the characters of Spellbound. In addition, Alan Menken composed the film’s background score, while Glenn Slater wrote the songs, and Lauren Hines, Elizabeth Martin, and Julia Miranda wrote the screenplay.
Revealing more about the story of the Netflix film, Jensen claimed that the story, as the film says, is primarily about coming together as a family. He added, “Like any timeless myth or enduring fairy tale, I believe its meaning reaches well beyond the nuances of this family dynamic.”
The filmmaker believes that the film will spread a positive message to the audience, especially families.
Spellbound will be available to stream on Netflix from November 22nd.
