In her statement, SIAA warned that the current backlash could set a “dark example” in the world of backlash cinema and public discourse against Kamal Haasan. The association insisted that to present a famous and respected shape like Kamal Haasan incorrectly – which has promoted frequent unity in regional and linguistic lines – for a serious injustice.
In the letter, Kamal Haasan’s famous Kannada actor Dr. Rajkumar and playwright and actor Girish, along with Karnad, highlighted longer friendship with his deep praise for literature and cultural expression in all languages.
It also recalled Kamal’s unwavering support during an important moment in the history of Karnataka.
The statement said, “When the famous Dr. Rajkumar was abducted, Kamal Haasan was one of the first voices to speak and call for his release,” the statement said. “He has always considered Dr. Rajkumar as a brother and holds Dr. Shivarjkumar in relation to a son.”

The statement has gained support from many people in southern film industries, as the call continues for mature and respectable dialogue in view of the controversy.
