Sony is making an electric car, inside it you will be able to play PlayStation games from a distance
Sony is set to launch its first EV, Afila soon. The Japanese tech giant has announced that users of this EV will be able to play PlayStation games remotely, with full integration with the car’s audio system. The Afila is being built as a joint venture between Sony and Honda.

Have you ever been bored while stuck in traffic or on a long road trip? Sony has a solution for you. The Japanese tech giant is working with Honda on an EV, and this car will allow you to play PlayStation games remotely.
Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between two Japanese companies, recently announced that its upcoming EV, the Afila, will be the world’s first car to come with PS Remote Play. PS Remote Play will allow users to play games remotely on their PS5 or PS4. Sony believes that this will give users an immersive experience with full integration with the car’s infotainment and audio systems.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that a car has come with access to PlayStation games. The 2003 limited edition Tata Safari came with a factory-fitted PlayStation 2.
Sony’s EV won’t let you play on your PS5 while driving
If you’re worried this could be a safety hazard, Sony has confirmed that PS Remote Play will only be available to the driver when the car is parked. At the same time, passengers will also be able to play PlayStation games while on the go.
The Sony Afeela will feature three front screens as well as two rear passenger screens for vehicle data and infotainment. It’s unclear whether the driver’s digital display will also get PS Remote Play integration. Also, users must already have a PS5 or PS4 to access this feature.
Sony Afeela is expected to launch in 2026. The price of the EV starts at $102,000 (approximately Rs 91,40,000) in the US. Buyers in the US can prebook the Afila for $200 (approximately Rs 18,000). The Sony EV will come with a 91kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 300 miles (482km). An India launch is unlikely for the Afila.
