The mood of the festive is set, the light is on, and the food is ready. But what about music? Well, the ceremony is never complete without the Bollywood party playlist. And this festival season, Sony has introduced its final field 5 portable speaker to set the mood. This speaker perfectly fits as an alternative to someone in search of a mid-pramium range portable speaker. In fact, within its final series, the ULT Field 5 is aimed at users who want some more premium than Field 3, yet the field is slightly cheaper than 7.

On paper, the speaker looks solid. It is a Bluetooth speaker that promises to give powerful bass through two final sound mode. It claims to offer an easy portability of up to 25 hours of battery life and an easy portability. It is also durable with IP67 ratings for dust and water resistance. Along with the premium build, the speaker is built with 2 tweeters and a woofer unit, which is to offer stereo sound with colored party light rings on the sinks with music. This includes a USB-C port to charge external devices, a 3.5mm audio input, and Bluetooth 5.3 with LDAC support for high quality audio playback.

I have been using this speaker for more than 10 days, and it has certainly brought positive vibes for my parties and Sunday’s dialect sessions. However, there are still some things that I have crowned the best portable Bluetooth speaker in this price range. So, I can take you through good and what can be better, one -one by one.

Solid body, greasy design

On the design front, the Sony Alt Field 5 takes some signal from the final field 3. It has a cuboid shape with round edges. While the frame feels like solid plastic, it is mainly wrapped in a fine net grille. I reviewed the white version, which I really liked. Sony also provides a black option, but for me the Chakali white version, a more premium appeal. Of course, I was initially concerned about the stains, but during my use I did not notice any funny pink or yellow stain mark, and it was easy to wipe the topical casual smuggle with a damp cloth. In addition, as it is IP rated, I was not worried about accidental splashes from the drink.

Returning to the design – there are speaker units under the front grill, while on top you get all the control buttons, including a dedicated “Alt” button for play/poses, volume, Bluetooth connectivity and bass boost. Back, you will find Aux input and USB Type-C charging port, both neatly stuck under a flap for a clean finish.

While the overall design looks minimum and classy, Sony has added some party flair. The speaker has integrated the multi-color RGB LED lighting ring around both loops inactive radiators that create the light effect of this party that sync with your music. You can customize them through the Sony Connect app.

The involved strap also makes the well -built and hook safely, making it easier to move the speaker around. At 3.3 kg, however, the Alt Field 5 is not light at all. Nevertheless, with the strap, you can pick it up and move it around without much trouble.

In all, the Alt Field 5 feels solid, the premium looks, and a stylish aesthetics that works that you are keeping it in your room, taking it on a picnic, or keeping it at the center of a house party, adding only the right vibe with party lights.

Strong stereo, weak surround field

The Sony Alt Field 5 has two Twitter units and a woofer. It promises to give an impressive sound with a large -scale bass boost. And what could be a better way to test that sound, by pairing with a Bollywood Garba playlist, is full of high tempo and timbing beats?

The playlist of my festive was a big hit like Nagda Song Dhol, Dholi Taro Dhol Baje, Chogda and Falguni Pathak like some reputed tracks. And I have to say, Field 5 never missed the beat. It gave the festival to the energetic vibe that wants to get up and dance to you. When I wanted additional punch, Alt 1 and Ult 2 mode allowed me to crank the bass.

The sound was obvious, with pulsed beats that carried it well to a slightly high versions in the middle. But when I pushed the volume to the maximum, Field 5 started struggling a little. I could hear some distortion creep in the audio.

And it was not just with energetic Bollywood mix. Even with bass-root tracks, but less frequencies, such as the iconic of enem, lose themselves or the bad man of Billy Elish, the high amount of sound showed a little deformation.

Another thing is that the speaker is front firing. Although it promises stereo sound, the surround field is not very wide. The soundstage sounds a bit limited – if you are hearing from behind or in sides, the speaker does not adapt to its orientation well, so the audio does not even fill the space even enough.

Overall, Field 5 performs a good job of providing powerful, fun sounds, but it is in its best form in mid-to-high versions-not most-and the soundstage can be wider for more immersive experience.

App control and battery

To play more with the audio, I also combined the speaker with Sony’s sound connect app. The app is compatible with both iOS and Android. Within the app, you get several options, including customizing sound effects with equalizer settings, switching ultimate mode, enabling DJ mix, controlling party lights, and more. It is easy to pair the app with the speaker and when you want to tweek the sound to match your mood, it is useful.

You can also add two devices at once, and the speaker originally switchs between them, making it easier to share the control of the playlist at a party. You can also control the app connected devices.

Also note that the speaker does not have a built -in microphone and does not support the voice assistants. Although it may not be a delivery for something, at this price point it is a feature that many users expect. This is useful to take Quick Voice Command or Call, so I recalled the feature when using Field 5.

Coming into the battery, the speaker performs gracelessly. I managed to get a playback of about 14 hours on a full charge and ultimate mode and with mid-high volume. Of course, battery depends much more on life use and volume levels. Sony promised a 25 -hour battery life with quick charging support.

Sony Alt Field 5 Speaker: Should you buy it?

The Sony Alt Field 5 is a very good Bluetooth speaker in the mid-primmium portable segment. It gives nails nails with solid construction quality, a smooth design, and adds some flair with ultis bass boost settings and party lights. This house is perfect for parties, picnic and festive celebrations. With app control, IP67 durability and decent battery life, the speaker seems strong and reliable.

He said, it is not innocent. In maximum amounts, sound can distort, the soundstage feels slightly narrow for the speaker at this price, and there is no voice assistant support.

But if you can see these deficiencies and want a stylish, powerful, bass-operated portable speaker that doubles as a party partner, the ultimate field 5 will not disappoint. Especially if you get it for its concessional value on e-commerce websites, where prices usually range from Rs 35,990 to Rs 22,990.
