Actress Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are now officially married. The couple, who have been dating for the past seven years, got married under the Special Marriage Act at Sonakshi’s home in Mumbai. They completed the civil marriage formalities and are now officially husband and wife.

Sonakshi Sinha, acclaimed for her roles in films like Dabangg and Lootera, is preparing for her big day with pre-wedding rituals and ceremonies at her Mumbai residence. Several Bollywood celebrities, close friends and family members are expected to attend the wedding ceremony to be held at Bastian in Mumbai.

Earlier, Zaheer Iqbal, who made his Bollywood debut with the film Notebook, was spotted leaving his house to attend the civil marriage ceremony at Sonakshi’s house. Sonakshi’s Heeramandi co-star Aditi Rao Hydari and her fiancé, actor Siddharth also arrived at the actor’s house to share the special day. Actor Aayush Sharma arrived with his wife Arpita Khan Sharma.

Zaheer’s father Iqbal Ratansi had already confirmed that their wedding will not involve Hindu or Muslim rituals. He told Free Press Journal, “It will have neither Hindu nor Muslim rituals. It will be a civil marriage.”

He also dismissed reports of Sonakshi converting to Islam and said, “She is not converting and that is for sure. Their relationship is a union of hearts and religion has no role to play in it. I believe in humanity. Hindus call God Bhagwan and Muslims Allah. But at the end of the day, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi.”
