Just like Mira Kapoor, thousands of people visit Stonehenge to celebrate the summer solstice. The festival is held twice a year to mark the changing seasons of the sun and sky. On the summer solstice, the sun rises behind the Heel Stone; the ancient entrance to the stone circle and the sun’s rays are reflected in the canter of the monument for several unknown reasons.
Stonehenge is considered mysterious because no one knows who built it and for what purpose. It is said that these stones were put together by an unknown civilization more than 4,000 years ago. Some researchers believe that it was an ancient burial site.
Next time you visit England, don’t forget to see the beauty of Stonehenge.
