Sohail Khan apologized after the video of him riding a bike without a helmet in Bandra went viral and drew criticism online. The actor admitted his mistake, cited claustrophobia as the reason and urged all riders to follow traffic rules and wear helmets for safety.

Bollywood actor Sohail Khan has responded to the criticism over the viral video in which he was shown riding a bike without a helmet on the streets of Bandra. Acknowledging the concerns raised online, the actor issued a public apology and used the moment to urge fellow riders to prioritize safety and wear helmets at all times.
Sohail shared a photo of himself riding his bike on Instagram and explained why he was not wearing a helmet in the video. Addressing his followers, he wrote, “I would like to request all bike riders to please wear a helmet. I sometimes avoid wearing a helmet because I feel claustrophobic, but that is no excuse for not wearing a helmet. Riding has been my passion since childhood. It started with a BMX bicycle and now I ride a bike. I mostly ride late at night to reduce the risk, when there is not much traffic. That too at a slow speed and my car is following me.”
The actor assured fans and officials that he will be more alert going forward and will make conscious efforts to follow traffic rules. “I assure fellow riders that I will make a genuine effort to overcome my claustrophobia and wear a helmet, so please bear with me. I apologize to the traffic officials, and I assure them that I will follow all the rules from now on. I salute all the riders who wear their helmets at all times despite the inconvenience, because it is necessary for our safety. It is better to be safe than sorry. Once again, I am truly sorry.”
Sohail’s response to taking responsibility and turning criticism into a safety message has been appreciated by many.
