The shooting incident at former US President Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday sent shockwaves around the world. According to 78-year-old Trump’s communications director Steven Cheung, he is “fine and being checked out at a local medical facility.”
While world leaders have expressed their shock at the incident and condemned such an act of violence, a section of people on X (formerly Twitter) have tried to lighten the mood by relating the incident to the all-time hit show The Simpsons. For reference, The Simpsons is known for its bizarre predictions.
It all started when a user claimed that Donald Trump’s firing incident was predicted by The Simpsons.
Sharing a set of screenshots from the episode, the user said, “The Simpsons need some explaining to do.”

Meanwhile, in his first statement after the shooting attempt, Donald Trump said, “I was hit by a bullet that grazed my right ear. I immediately knew something was wrong because I heard a loud noise, gunfire, and immediately felt the bullet rip through my skin.”
Mr Trump thanked the Secret Service and law enforcement for their “quick response”. He added: “I want to thank the United States Secret Service and all law enforcement for their quick response to the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to offer my condolences to the family of the man who was killed at the rally, and also to the family of another man who was badly injured.”
He said, “It’s unbelievable that such an act could happen in our country. At this time nothing is known about the shooter, who is now dead. I was hit by a bullet that grazed the upper part of my right ear. I immediately knew something was wrong because I heard a loud noise, gunfire, and immediately realized the bullet had ripped through the skin. There was a lot of bleeding, so I realized what was happening. God bless America.”
