Aamir Khan’s much awaited film Sitare is finally hitting theaters in a few hours. The sports comedy drama directed by RS Prasanna recorded average advance booking despite Khan’s aggressive promotion.
Sitaare Zameen Par Sells 46,000 tickets in top national series
Bankarols by Aamir Khan Productions, Sitare Zameen Paar sold over 46,000 tickets in the top three national series- PVR Inox and Cinepolis- for the early days. Of this, an important part of the entry into the PVR INOX was recorded, while the remaining were sold in Cinepolis. It should be noted that these are estimated figures.
As Aamir Khan is an Aamir Khan film across the land, advance booking does not justify his stardom. However, one should note that slic-off-life sports is not very viable in the comedy style-old time, which means that the fate of the Sitare ground crosses will depend on its word-mouth.
Sitare land cross inaugurated Rs 8 crore
Given the advance sales and discussion around the film, Aamir Khan starrer is expected to open with a net of just Rs 8 crore. This will be one of the lowest Aamir Khan openers in recent times. Although the film has been marketed as a spiritual sequel for the star land equal, it cannot kill a raga with the audience with its campaigner property. Nevertheless, if the film is successful in impressing the audience, Sitare will see a quick boost in its collection across the ground.
Although the film can begin on a low note, it has the ability to jump over the weekend and raise through a successful dramatic run. It will be interesting to see how sports drama performs at the box office. The film marks Aamir Khan’s return on screen after Lal Singh Chafdha, a box office defeat.
