Arjun Kapoor has given some impressive performances since he started his acting career with Ishaqzaade in 2012. Since then, he has been a part of many hit films. But in the recent past, some of his films did not perform well at the box office. Having said that, Rohit Shetty cast him to play the villain in his upcoming action film Singham Again. When asked why the filmmaker trusted the actor despite his films not doing well, filmmaker-writer Milap Zaveri said that Shetty saw talent and passion in Kapoor.
Milap Zaveri, who has written the dialogues for Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, tells Siddharth Kannan that the filmmaker is a talented individual who shows faith in people, no matter how high or low his career graph is currently. When asked why he chose Arjun Kapoor to play the villain in his upcoming multi-starrer, the Mastizaade director said, “He saw the talent and passion in Arjun Kapoor for Singham Again. He believed that Arjun Kapoor just needed the right opportunity and that was his talent. Once the film is released, we will see how right Rohit was.
Milap also recalled how Shetty gave him a chance with Singham, even when he was going through a bad phase in his career after Satyamev Jayate 2. He said that Golmaal directors are not talented just like that. According to Zaveri, Shetty is one of the greatest directors of India and a genuinely good human being. When he walks on the set the entire team respects him. Apart from this he also supports everyone. “He accepted Arjun into his family and believed that he would add value to the film. Rohit had faith in Arjun and the same will be reflected in the film,” revealed Milap Zaveri.
For those unaware, Singham Again is a direct sequel to his 2014 film Singham Returns. It is also the fifth installment of Shetty’s franchise. While Arjun plays a negative character, the film also stars Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, Dayanand Shetty and Shweta Tiwari in lead roles. Produced by Rohit, Ajay and Jyoti Deshpande, the film is all set to release on the big screens on November 1, 2024, coinciding with Diwali.
