Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty and starring Ajay Devgan in the lead along with Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff and Arjun Kapoor, has continued to hold the box office.
Singham Again starts its second weekend by earning Rs 7.75 crore today
Jointly produced by Jio Studios and Rohit Shetty Pictures, Singham Again entered its second weekend earning Rs 7.5 crore to Rs 8 crore today on the eighth day of its release. The total Indian collection of the masala entertainer has now reached Rs 166.75 crore, of which Rs 159 crore has come in from the first week.
The film had the best performance in its opening weekend where it collected around Rs 111 crore nett in India. Considering the pace of Singham Again, the film should cross the Rs 200 crore nett mark in its second week.
Mixed language harms the business of Singham again
The Ajay Devgan starrer film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, which largely affected its business. Additionally, it faced a major clash with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which turned out to be a bigger rival than expected. Ideally, the film should have seen a big surge today, but it remained flat.
It will be interesting to see how the film performs on the second Saturday and second Sunday. The holdover after the weekend will be very important to decide where it goes from here.
Region wise, Singham Again is performing best in the mass centers of Maharashtra and Gujarat belts. Rohit Shetty’s previous police universe film, Sooryavanshi, also collected a major share from these two regions.
