Singer Ranjit Bawa’s reaction on cancellation of third show in Himachal amid protests
Singer Ranjit Bawa recently reacted after his third show in Himachal Pradesh got canceled due to the ongoing protests by Bajrang Dal. He is accused of hurting Hindu sentiments with his song Mera Ki Kasoor.

Punjabi singer Ranjit Bawa was scheduled to perform at the Red Cross fair in Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh on December 15. However, the program was canceled after protests by members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), who accused them of hurting Hindu sentiments. With his song Mera Ki Kasoor.
Reacting to the cancellation, Bawa shared a post on social media to address the issue, urging Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to intervene. He highlighted that this is the third time that one of his shows has been closed in the state.
“After the Nalagarh show was cancelled, some people spread hatred by using religion and politics to divide people. I appeal to the honorable Chief Minister of Himachal to intervene because last year the third show in Himachal was also cancelled. Entertainment is meant to unite, but some people are using religion to promote division. We respect all religions, but some people are making it a Hindu-Sikh issue.

The 35-year-old singer also apologized for any hurt caused by his song. It’s my fault. “Our fans, who have supported us for years, are upset by this. We deeply regret any hurt caused by the song and we are committed to spreading love and peace. We pray that the hatred ends, so we Can come back with the show soon.” Love, peace, Waheguru,” he said.
This comes after a recent complaint was filed against singer Karan Aujla ahead of his scheduled show in Chandigarh. Professor and Chandigarh resident Panditrao Dharnevar accused Karan of promoting alcohol, drugs and violence through his songs.
Bava’s song Mera Ki Kasoor, released in 2020, is currently not available on YouTube. Following protests by Hindu groups he faced several FIRs accusing him of hurting religious sentiments.
