The mega South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) was held in Dubai on September 14. The award ceremony aims to celebrate the four major industries of South cinema (Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada). On Saturday, SIIMA honoured artistes from the Telugu and Kannada industries. Nani won the Best Actor award for Dussehra (Telugu), while Rakshit Shetty won the Best Actor trophy from Kannada cinema.

Keerthy Suresh won the Best Actress award in Telugu for her film. Performance on DussehraMrunal Thakur was awarded the Best Actress (Critics) award for her film Nee Nanna. Actor-politician Dr. Shiva Rajkumar was honoured with the Excellence in Cinema award.
